Well I know I am a tired property owner here in Central Windsor! My family and I live in not what I think.... not too bad of an area here in Windsor! We do have a bit of crime, like vandelism, B&E of cars and also a lot of kids riding, skating, and playing on our local streets, not to mention without helmets.

We have called the police a # of times! Someone has tried to steel our car! $1500 damage, Eggs at our cars and house windows... Not only our house but 4 out of 6 houses on our block! Each time we called the police like for instance! When our car was almost stolen.. the police didn't do anything! They said they could if it was stolen! Does that make a whole lot of sense to you? Eggs and stuff at the house and vandelism.. Again call the police! Nothing done... All we get is "What do you want us to do"? "patrol the area more often"

HAHA that too is a load of crap! Never happens! We're lucky to see 1 police car go doen our street maybe once a month! I'm fed up! I also wrote a note in the Windsor Star a while back about Crime Stopers drivin around in a $100,000 donated Hummer! For what? Need I mention to you all that one Crime Stoper's worker lives 1 block around from my house where all this crime happends.. Drungs in the area are a whole other topic as well..

Do any of you's find thes 2 helpful in your neck of the woods here in Windsor? Crime Stopers or City Of Windsor Police?

Well i know how you feel, i myself work on Tecumseh, and i see cop cars go by on a regular basis, and yes the odd time they do pull people over, but it seems that as soon as the sun goes down the patrols dwindle to next to nothing.

I find Thursday nights to be the worse of all of them. I know Thursdays are the days that all the old muscle cars go to the marketplace, and hang out, (this is a great attraction to the people in the city, and visitors who find out about it. This is the perfect opportunity to check out the cars from days gone by. I know many people dream about those old cars, and eventually owning one. But the common problem i'm seeing is that once they leave the market, quite a few of them, not all, but quite a few, decide it's playtime on the streets of windsor.
They race off of lights, and just basically create a disturbance, yet with all the noise, and smoke, and whatever else, i never seem to see a police car pull one of them over.

Now i know the cops can't be everywhere, and i'm not trying to take away from what they do, but i wish one of them would log on here, and explain why during the day the patrols are numerous, and then night falls, they vanish.

As for the crime stopper vehicle, i saw a photo of it in the paper, but i have never seen it drive around where i work, or where i live.

I also forgot to mention! I work at a big Garage on Jefferson! their are thevies all the time in the parked cars at our place! We bring in the cars every night to fill all bays we have! Others we leaved parked right up to the road @ Jefferson! What's funny is their's a Tim Hortons where we parks them right next to! You could spit on it from our driveways! At least once a weak these thieves break a window or 2 and go thru these cars... My boss does not call the police anymore cuz they won't do a * thing!

Also another Patrol problem is these FAST motorcycles! Doing Wheelies and highspeeds down our streets..! Oh boy! No ending!

Address the problem with city council !!! Have you voted for a city council representative for your Ward ?!? Do you know who that person is ?!! They are available to address your issues !! If you have not voted please vote next time !! I know we had the same problems with break ins, littering etc. and we talked to the council member of our ward and that got things moving. Btw. cops are patrolling our street at least 2 times a night !

Last year Easter weekend I went into my garage to throw out some trash when I heard a bunch of noises (people) on my driveway. As I looked through my window there was seriously like 15 teenagers ON MY DRIVEWAY, drinking and smoking (under age) I proceeded to call the police non-emergency line and was told to wait because they were sending a patrol car over. I waited...and waited...10 minutes...20 minutes...30 minutes...nothing! When I called back I was told that it was very busy downtown due to the Easter weekend and that my call was not a priority. Since when is drinking, smoking pot in public at 15 years old on someone elses property not a priority??? Why do we pay $3500. a year for city taxes????? PATHETIC! On top of it all I had the honor of picking up empty beer bottles all over my lawn the next day.

Well first of all im not a cop.....but ....oh yes theres a but ....Past practice around this city is basically nothing happens until someone gets hurt ...then usually they go overboard ...so when someone looses control on a Thursday night in one of the Muscle Cars ...they(CofW) will likely ban any car meet ..or of course need a permit to meet (they get more money out of us that way) ..Cops to me are busy dealing with the stupid people (freaks always come out at night) every city has ..which ends up wasting there precious time that could be used helping and policing other areas...as for bringing it up at City council ...I dont know about you but I really dont want them to debate it for 4 or 5 years or longer ( arena ring a bell?????) ..... I could go on and on and on and on but ...theres that but again ....Im out ...gripped enough for one night
